The Church of God of Prophecy
San Francisco, CA, Winter 2015 Advent Awakening For many, the celebratory act of the three kings bringing gifts and the shepherds coming to praise the new born king is where the story ends. However, this new play seeks to challenge audience’s notions of Christmas, Christianity, and their own placement in the story. In an interactive manner, the play illuminates forces unseen, such as demons within our minds and our attempts to break free of self-inflicted struggles. The play uses interpretive movement, music, video projections, and interviews to deconstruct the story of the Nativity and discover new ways of interpreting this famous biblical event. Student Drama Series 2010 San Francisco, CA What would happen if some of the most renowned artists from all time periods were suddenly found together in Warhol’s Studio? Fortunately for Warhol, his newest work would not be a success without the keen eyes of Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dali, Georgia O’Keefe, Jackson Pollock, and Diego Rivera. UCSF Children’s Hospital San Francisco, CA, Spring 2010 100 Journals Project Inspired by the 1,000 Journals Project, UCSF Children’s Hospital collaborated with San Francisco University High School, Urban High School and Wallenberg High School to transform the journal entries of the patients in their ward into a theatrical celebration of their stories. Passed from bed to bed, the shared journals encouraged and connected the patients in their time of feeling secluded. Through images, poetry, and other creative expressions, the high schools interpreted their stories in a script including music and dance. Performed at the DeYoung Museum and UCSF Children’s Hospital, the 100 Journals Project bridged the lives the patients and non-patients to create a new compassionate community.
